My journey through chronic pain

Windy City

A couple of days ago I rolled into Chicago all excited to see lots of stuff in a BIG city… Yeah, it didn’t quite work out that way. Mostly because I realized that all I really wanted to see was the Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum, Navy Pier and have a meal at the Hard Rock. The only thing I didn’t do was walk around Navy Pier, and I’m ok with that. I did, however, get to spend a couple of evenings with a friend from college and her fiance. I had a FABULOUS time with them!! You’d never know we hadn’t seen each other in 10 years, we picked up right where we left off and it was AWESOME!!

Today, I ended up in Milwaukee. A city, I’m surprised to say, I really like. I drove around for a couple of hours taking in the city before heading to my hotel. I asked the chick at the front desk where a good place to eat was and she suggested a German restaurant down the road. Being of German heritage, of course, I had to head there. I was not disappointed, at all! I recommend Kegel’s Inn if you are ever in Milwaukee for good food and atmosphere.

I’ve had a few physically taxing days in the past week and I’ve extremely physically uncomfortable more often than not lately but, I have to say, that being able to see good friends more than makes up for the pain.
