My journey through chronic pain

Best Week Ever! (At least I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be)

So…have ya missed me?? 😀 Well, the last week was pretty busy. After I left Milwaukee I went to Madison and met up with another friend from college. We went to dinner and had a few drinks with one of her friends from high school. I stayed with she and her husband at their house that night and the next morning we had breakfast and watched movies on ABC Family all morning. Ok, seriously, does it get any better than that?!?! I had a great time catching up and chilling with them and it was sooo great to have some down time, I was starting to wear myself out.

When I finally decided to peel myself off the couch I went up to The Dells, aka Wisconsin Dells. I had, what I thought was going to be, a nice slow day of Wisconsin River boat tours planned. Yeah, not so slow. My hip was KILLING me after walking up inclines on the Upper Dells tour excursions. Boy, was I thankful for the hotel pool that night!

The next morning, I rolled VERY slowly outta bed, man was I sore, got myself all packed up and headed north to see another friend from college. The plan for the day…parade, food on the grill and a couple of beers. Awesome! It was a beautiful day for all of that and I had such an awesome time! I met another husband, some beautiful kiddies, caught up with another good friend. I couldn’t have asked for anything more! I don’t think anything on this trip is going to top spending time with three of my best friends, whom I hadn’t seen in 10 years, and their families.

Reluctantly, I headed south to the Twin Cities for my next adventure. I got to my hotel to have the guy at the desk say, “Since you’re a member we decided to upgrade your room. You were in a king suite and now you’re in a king jacuzzi suite. You’re two rooms from the door and right next to the pool.” And what did I do? I stared at him slack-jawed and said, “Really? Ok.” How often have you seen me speechless?! Yeah, I know! LOL

I had all these grand ideas of what I was going to see in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Yeah, didn’t quite work out that way. I went to the Mall of America, yes I bought a few things, no I’m not telling what they are. I went on a Mississippi Riverboat cruise, I wasn’t that impressed with it except that I got to go through the locks in a boat which I’d never done before. Then, it was time for lunch at the Hard Rock. After driving by it about 100 times before I noticed the GIANT guitar on the corner…yeah, I can be so dense sometimes… Anyway, I sit down and ask for a chocolate martini and a menu…lunch, four martinis, and three hours later I’m walking out of there with a new friend in the bartender, she said I was good entertainment for the afternoon. Who knew?! 😉

Ok, now we’re up to today… Left St. Cloud, after getting an oil change, and headed to North Dakota. I am very upset that I could not take advantage of the 75 mph speed limit because there were HEAVY winds and rain and the road was covered in water from flooding in a couple of areas. But, of course, as I near my destination for the day, the damn rain lets up! Grrr…

Well, that’s all for today. I’m tuckered out already and kinda hungry.
